Atlas Expands Line With New Near Field Monitors

Atlas Sound, a leading manufacturer of audio components since 1934, is pleased to announce the addition of two live sound near-field monitors to its stable of pro audio products which also includes stage-level monitors, mic stands, and boom stands. The announcement was made by Atlas Sound Vice President of Sales Tony Satariano.
The new SM52 (8W) 5-1/4” two way speaker systems and the SM82 (8W) 8” two-way loudspeaker systems consist of highly efficient woofer sections and titanium dome high frequency devices.
The mathematically conceived advanced design of the Atlas Sound TRX CONTROL WAVEGUIDE™ high frequency director optimizes vocal and musical clarity and gives each model smooth, even sound coverage (90°H x 90°V for the 5-1/4” model, and 65°H x 65°V for the 8” model). The speakers feature a symmetrical high frequency section for equal coverage in both vertical and horizontal mounting positions. SM52 and SM82 8W models have magnetic shielding for use near video and CRT monitors as well as a ¼” phone jack and 5-way binding-post.
To withstand even the harshest outdoor applications, the new live sound near-field monitors are constructed of weather resistant materials such as UV-resistant talc impregnated polypropylene injection molded cabinets, HyconeÔ treated speaker components, powder coated aluminum grilles and all brass hardware.
“The great thing about the Atlas live sound near-field monitors is not only the unique design of the speakers,” said Satariano, but also the incredible attention paid in the design phase to the utility of the products. We knew these speakers were probably going to be exposed to the elements in outdoor applications and therefore had to stand up to punishment while continuing to perform on an outdoor stage as they would had they been mounted inside Carnegie Hall.”
Systems are available in black or white finish and include brackets fabricated of zinc chromate plating with black powder coat.
