Digital Audio Wave Brings Mobility to 64-bit Digital Audio WorkstationsTAL AudioPosted 2004-01-20 Anaheim, California (January 17, 2004) – Digital Audio Wave today announced the addition of the DAWin-64M™ to their product line of specialized multimedia computer systems. Intended to fulfill the most demanding digital audio processing, editing, and mastering needs, the DAWin-64M is powered by a 32- and 64-bit capable AMD Athlon™ 64 processor for desktop replacement (DTR) notebooks and an ATI Mobility™ RADEON™ 9600 (M10-P) graphics accelerator chip with 64MB DDR video ram. The crisp, bright 15.0-inch SXGA display with maximum resolution of 1400 X 1050 gives the DAWin-64M eye-popping visual characteristics rivaling those of high-end office-bound workstations.
The large memory address space available with the DAWin-64M allows the digital audio engineer or composer to access virtual instruments and sample libraries from physical memory, eliminating the need for multiple PCs or peripheral instruments and increasing productivity.
“Not only does this mobile studio provide the leading-edge in 32-bit platform performance, but DAWin's ultra-smart CPU will be able to easily assimilate upcoming 64-bit operating systems,” said Frank Fatih Kara, president and chief operating officer at Digital Audio Wave. “Even while using intensive, real-time pro-audio applications such as Cubase SX and Cakewalk Sonar, DAWin-64M™ can delivers more than 3 hours of use on a single charge. And the superior processing power of AMD64 and HyperTransport™ technologies means DAWin gets more done in less time.”
“The DAWin-64M based on the AMD Athlon 64 processor for desktop replacement notebooks provides media creators with the demanding performance required for today’s electronic music production, along with the mobility needed by live re-mix performers and audio production engineers,” said Charlie Boswell, senior member of the technical staff for Digital Media and Entertainment at AMD. “Digital Audio Wave’s unique and high performance AMD processor-based system allows artists to take the studio to the stage.”
