NEW YAMAHA AES ELECTRICS ARE ALL ABOUT GREAT LOOKS AND SOUND

ANAHEIM, CA—Since its debut, the Yamaha AES Series electric guitars have provided ýlead and rhythm rock players with quality designed, competitively-priced instruments that ýcan hold up to heavy riffs and keep pace with today’s guitar-driven music. Yamaha ýGuitars expands on the award-winning AES Series with the Winter NAMM introduction ýof three new models, developed in conjunction with Yamaha Guitar Development, ýYamaha’s U.S. custom shop and artist center.

Available in March, the Yamaha AES420, ýAES720 and AES920 electrics join the line that includes the award-winning AES620, and ýcarry on the AES tradition with substance and style.ý

ý“The AES electrics have always been known for big sound, a smooth feel and real ýplayability,” states Joseph Brasler, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. “It’s been said ýthat the AES is a modern twist on a retro instrument, and these new models carry that ýidea a step further. It’s not just about amazing looks or sound—it’s about both.”ý

The AES420 (MSRP $599) is a great introduction to the Yamaha AES line. It ýfeatures a solid Mahogany body and set Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fingerboard. ýElectronics include premium Yamaha pickups, master volume and tone knobs, plus a ý ý3-way toggle EQ switch. Other design elements include dot inlays, die-cast tuners and ýchrome hardware. Color options include striking black or red metallic. ý The AES720 (MSRP $999) has a solid body and a fast, set-in neck constructed of ýMahogany, plus a Rosewood fingerboard. Onboard electronics include Grover tuners, ýDiMarzio custom neck and bridge pickups with separate volume controls, a master tone ýcontrol and 3-way EQ switch. The appearance of the AES720 is what sets it apart from ýother models in the line—metallic finishes with a unique black center, high-tech black ýanodized hardware and a distinctive AES bridge and tailpiece. ý The AES920 (MSRP $1,999) blends the vintage with the modern, with a solid ýMaple body, African Mahogany top and quilted Maple body veneer. The set-in, 24 ¾-in. ýscale African Mahogany neck features a Rosewood fingerboard with Abalone dot inlays ýand white position markers. A Yamaha original bridge and AES tailpiece, nickel ýhardware, die-cast tuners and the choice of Natural or warm Honeyburst top finishes ýcomplete the look.ý

The electronics of the AES920 will yield an endless selection of blends for a true ýcustom sound—Duncan ’59® neck and bridge pickups with nickel plated covers and ýseparate volume controls, plus master tone and a 3-way EQ toggle switch. ý For more information on AES420, AES720 and AES920 electric guitars, visit ýYamaha at Winter NAMM 2004 in the Marquis Ballroom at the Anaheim Marriot Hotel; ýwrite Yamaha Corporation of America, Pro Audio & Combo Division, Guitar Products, ýP.O.
