YAMAHA RBX ROCKS THE FOUNDATION(Yamaha | Posted 2004-01-27) ANAHEIM, CA—Yamaha’s popular RBX line continues to push modern bass design ýpast new limits with great tone, fresh styling and cutting-edge features. Winter NAMM ýý2004 provides the launching pad for three new models: The four-string RBX374 (MSRP ýý$529.99), five-string RBX375 (MSRP $599.99) and the 6-string John Myung signature ýmodel, the RBXJM2 (MSRP $1,649.99).ý
All three RBX models deliver Yamaha’s trademark blend of top-grade materials, ýworld-class craftsmanship and outstanding value. Each bass features a toneful Alder ýbody, a bolt-on Maple 24 fret neck with a 34”-scale Rosewood fingerboard, a muscular, ýcontoured double-cutaway body and a stunning 3-D headstock design that’s sure to make ýeveryone take notice. Black hardware and sharp styling complete the 21st Century look.ý
The signature RBXJM2 model sets the bar with a 3-piece Maple neck, oval ýAbalone position markers and a choice between Inca Silver or Plum Pearl Metallic ýfinishes. Named for Dream Theater bassist John Myung, the RBXJM2 delivers distinctive ýtone, thanks to a custom Seymour Duncan SMB-6a pickup and a high-octane active ýpreamp that features an ultra-versatile three-band EQ.ý
The RBX374 and RBX375 offer similar features, but each sports two newly ýdesigned, high-output ceramic hum-canceling pickups that can beef up any rig. With ý
two-band EQ, master volume and a pickup-blending pan pot, the active preamp can dial ýin powerhouse tone with lethal precision. Finishes include Flat Silver, Red Metallic, and ýBlack. New, edgy pickup covers round out the look.
