ANAHIEM, CA—Yamaha’s TRB line has put a solid foundation on professional stages ýand studios the world over. Three new aggressively priced models bring these cutting-ýedge five- and six-string instruments closer within the working player’s reach than ever ýbefore.

ý ý“These instruments are ideal for the player who wants to take advantage of the ýTRB feature set,” states Joseph Brasler, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. “Not only ýdo they offer the bass player the widest variety of sound options—they offer an ýoutstanding performance-to-price ratio.”ý Models include the TRB1006 six-string (MSRP $1,449.99), TRB1005 five-string ýý(MSRP $1,299.99) and TRB1005 five-string Fretless (MSRP $1,299.99). The TRB1005 ýis also available in a left-handed version (TRB1005L, MSRP $1,399.99).ý

All three basses boast top quality woods and electronics. With high-grade Alder ýbodies crowned by stunning Quilted Maple tops and rock-solid 3-piece bolt-on Maple ýnecks with Rosewood fingerboards, these five- and six-strings dig low and stay punchy. ýThe 35” super long scale offers a tight feel with plenty of attack, even on earth-shaking ýlow notes.ý

The electronics transmit every nuance of the TRBs’ mammoth tone. Each model ýfeatures two sweet-sounding Alnico hum-canceling pickups, made exclusively for the ýTRB in Yamaha’s Japan factory. The pickups are mated to a proprietary active preamp ýthat features a three-band EQ, master volume and blend controls.

ý All three TRB basses sport die-cast machines and solid brass bridges. Other ýappointments include oval Mother-of-Pearl position marker inlays on the fretted models, ýwhile the TRB1005F has a clean fingerboard design with Maple fret lines. Finishes ýinclude Translucent Dark Red, Translucent Black and Natural. ý ý“Bottom Line: These instruments sound fat—and play like butter,” Brasler notes. ýý“They can do it all.”ý
