Reading, Writing, Recording: Upgraded Yamaha Pc Music Studio Kit Is The Perfect Tutor(Yamaha | Posted 2004-02-13) ANAHEIM, CA—Learning to read, write, play and record music has never been easier with the fully upgraded Yamaha PC Music Studio Kit (PCMSKIT II). Loaded with three programs from acclaimed software and multimedia manufacturer Magix, the new PCMSKIT II package contains user-friendly, step-by-step lessons and games designed to develop musical skills and turn a PC / MIDI keyboard combination into a virtual recording studio.
“With the addition of Magix software, the Yamaha PCMSKIT II represents a complete upgrade from previous versions,” states Bryan Savage, manager, Yamaha Accessory Products. “This package now provides the traditional home computer user with a fun, interactive way to not only hone playing skills, but also to learn to read and write music, and even explore basic recording techniques.”
Programs include Piano and Keyboard Workshop, MIDI Studio and Audio Studio. Piano and Keyboard Workshop contains challenging lessons and a loop feature for practice. Users can load any MIDI file and learn to play it.
MIDI Studio creates and mixes multi-track MIDI recordings (up to 128 tracks), adds instant accompaniment or drum tracks, transposes or changes velocity/length, and will even compose and print music scores to a desktop printer.
With Audio Studio, audio data can be converted to digital data and stored on a PC. Up to 16 live vocal and instrumental tracks may be recorded and edited, and even layered with digital effects. Users may import, edit and add sound files to their project mix to create professional sounding productions.
The Yamaha PCMSKIT II includes a computer-to-keyboard interface, and is currently available at authorized Yamaha dealers at an MSRP of $59.99.
