Derek was one of thousands of entrants in the months of October, November and December who helped build quality gear review content here at MusicGearReview.com. We'd sincerely like to thank everyone for your efforts and for the great reviews you sent in. Hopefully with more contests and more review submissions by our visitors we can continue to grow and provide a great resource to musicians, recording pros, hobbyists and DJ's around the world.
But that's enough about us, here's a little about Derek:
Derek Mok is a singer-songwriter and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Born
in Hong Kong but raised in Canada, he had been working as a freelance
journalist since he was 14. Derek began writing songs in 1991 on a $50
Casio keyboard and graduated to guitar several years later. He has written
over 100 songs and has just completed his first CD, The Roar of a Nation, on
which he plays all the instruments. Derek is also a film editor with over
40 credits in short films, commercials and music video; his film directing
debut, 'The Human Press', is currently appearing at festivals.
We'd like to wish Derek the best in his future endeavors in journalism, music and film. His reviews were certainly high quality and hopefully has provided other readers of our site much value.
