One of the most important features of the C 1000 S is that it can be powered either by phantom voltage or by an internal 9-Volt battery, which allows it to be used in places that other condenser mics can't be used. When the microphone is switched on, a red LED at the bottom of the on/off switch flashes once to indicate that the battery has enough current to power the microphone. When the battery's life drops to 45 minutes, the red LED stays on as a warning to indicate low battery power.
The C 1000 S comes with the PPC 1000 which allows the microphone to be switched from cardioid to hypercardioid pickup for greater pickup pattern control.
