PEAVEY BACKS KID ROCK & DURAN DURAN DURING SUPER BOWL FESTIVITES(Peavey | Posted 2004-02-02) Feb. 2, 2004, HOUSTON---Kid Rock and Duran Duran brought an array of
powerful Peavey amplifiers to millions of television viewers around the
world during their performances at Super Bowl XXXVIII on Sunday. Duran Duran performed an hour-long set during the pre-game NFL Tailgate Party, and more than a few camera shots of guitarist Andy Taylor's
Peavey Triple XXX=AE amplifiers made the cut on CBS-TV's live broadcast.
The network aired a performance of the band's 1984 hit "Wild Boys." Kid
Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker band joined in the festivities at
halftime with a medley of the hits "Bawitdaba" and "Cowboy." Keyboardist
Jimmie Bones's prized Peavey KB=AE5 amp setup saw plenty of airtime as the
band shared the stage with Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy
and Nelly.
Bones says his Peavey KB5 amplifiers provide ample clarity and, most of
all, power for Kid Rock's live show. "I need to be able to compete with
two guitars, and we really like a little bleed onstage," he says. "This
is rock 'n' roll, you know? The KB5 gives me some really good power and
a nice warm, round tone." Bones also uses a Peavey Delta Blues* guitar
amp for his harmonica.
Duran Duran celebrated its 25th anniversary and the reunion of its five
founding band members in 2003 with a run of successful shows in the
U.S., Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In 2004, Duran Duran will
release its first record with all original band members in 20 years and
continue its hugely successful worldwide reunion tour. Kid Rock will
also tour throughout the year.
