NEW YORK, NEW YORK, (It's a wonderful town) - As reported on Mackietone.com in June 2000, Steve West and Bruno Ravel of B.O.M.B. Faktory were writing and recording the theme songs for a slew of Major League Baseball teams, including The New York Yankees, The New York Mets, The Boston Red Sox, and The Baltimore Orioles, to name just a few.

At that time, Steve West had commented, "It's looking pretty good for the Yankees, the Red Sox or the Mets... but regardless of what team gets to the big game, we're going to be rooting for the guy who hits the (stadium system) play button on our song!"

Well, turns out two of the teams for whom Steve and Bruno wrote theme songs wound up in the World Series, after all. (It would have been only one theme song if the Seattle Mariners didn't choke... but we're not bitter). If you have been locked in a box on a prison island in French Guyana, then you probably don't know The New York Mets and The New York Yankees are at each other in the first New York Subway Series since 1956.

"Ironically," Steve stated right after the second game of the 2000 World Series, "They are NOT playing the theme songs we wrote for the teams during the games!" But what is happening is even better than just having the songs played over the stadium sound systems during the games. The two theme songs, THE YANKEE MAMBO and THE METS ARE GONNA GETCHA', are getting, what Steve calls, "Madonna-like hit single rotation on the three major Top 40 New York City Radio stations." WPLJ, Z-100 and WKTU are playing each song every hour! "Three times per hour is the minimum rotation for our songs just from these three stations," Steve states, almost in total amazement.

THE YANKEE MAMBO and THE METS ARE GONNA GETCHA' - both penned by Ravel and West - were produced with B.O.M.B. Faktory's Mackie Designs d8b on their Mackie HR824 Near-Field Monitors. Bruno, who also sung all vocals on THE METS ARE GONNA GETCHA' states, "I can't get in my car and turn on the radio without hearing either one of our songs! It's so weird to hear my voice singing back at me constantly. It seems like just last week we were mixing these tunes on our d8b and HR824s, thinking that the only place anyone was ever going to hear these tunes was if they were at a Mets or a Yankees game... Now every Met and Yankees fan in New York is singing them while riding the subway to the Yankee Stadium or Shea Stadium to root for their favorite team."

Steve adds, "I wish Danger Danger," (referring to their other band project), "could get this kind of radio rotation." Steve continues, "The exposure THE YANKEE MAMBO and THE METS ARE GONNA GETCHA are both getting will hopefully cast a greater light on our other production and songwriting projects."

Again, when asked what team they are rooting for when they watch the games, Bruno states, "Will you be quiet, please?! We're listening to our songs on the radio!"
