Anyone out there have any general opinions on the Harbinger brand? I've seen that you can get some pretty good prices, is it decent quality equipment, or junk?

My friend's band, Passive Karma (you should check them out online, they're pretty cool - shameless plug), actually uses it. It's pretty solid equipment and lightweight (YAY!) for the price. I'd recommend it. It's not far and beyond other brands but it's still a really solid buy with a great clean sound.

What were you thinking of getting?

My friends that use Harbinger equipment have mixed reviews on it as a PA: they like the pricetag but notice that it cannot seem to handle putting out clear clean audio at high volumes. This is common in lower-end PA systems, but Harbinger is light and good enough if you don't need to push it too hard or require top-quality audio out of the speakers

My band is just starting out and we are currently using Harbinger equipment. I have to concur with both of the reviews above. The pluses for us as a new band were 1)It is much more within our price range at this time. and 2)The sound quality was very good for a lower-end PA system. Because currently we are just playing small parties and clubs, we are not in a position at this point where we have to really push our system.

I asked around at the club this weekend and Harbinger actually came pretty highly recommended for smaller venues. The lightness was one of the biggest selling features, according to one local band. They do a lot of one-night gigs at colleges in the area and they love their setup.
