I am looking for a solution to my strap lock problem. My custom acoustic has the strap end button that doubles as the jack for my input. Does anyone make a strap lock that works on this type of strap button? It is a very spendy guitar and it would be nice to lose a bit of the worry. smile

I had the same problem once, and this was the only thing I could find to fix it. I would highly recommend it, though. Dunlop made a great product with this.

I present, the Lokstrap! *trumpet fanfare*

Check out this thingy: http://www.tapastring.com/strapkeeper0605.htm

Failing that, you might be able to rig something with one of the C-shaped washers that Dunlop provides with its Straplock. They slip over the lock once it's on the strap and might work. It would depend on how large you endpin jack is. But it also might mean that that end of your strap would be a real bear to get off.

I've slso seen clips that look like wider bobby pins, with bumps along each side, that are used to lock odometer cables into engine blocks. It also occurs to me use a small hose clamp like these: http://www.belknaptools.com/hoseclamp/clamps.jpg

You might also be able to use a clip from the "garter belt" that hockey players use to hold up their outer socks. See the image here for the fastener shape: http://www.planetsports.com/hockeyworld/WinningSports/garterbelt.jpg

I'd suggest a woman's garter belt clip but you might feel unconfortable at Victoria's Secret. blush And if you have a steady lady friend, I want to be there when you explain to her that the garter belt you bought is for your guitar.

OK, I've used too much brainpower for now.
