So Roland's V-Piano has a totally different thing going on. While almost every keyboard up to this point has been based on higher definition and higher quality samples, Roland's board has something that Roland calls Component Object Sound Modeling technology.

Just wondering if anyone out there had played one or had any more info on exactly what that technology does? It seems to me that "Component" might hint that they were actually able to create a piano algorithm. In fact, the parameters on adjusting the sounds in the Vanguard section of the presets are nigh infinite. You can even adjust the weight and size of the hammers from diminutive to gargantuan (by piano standards, at least). I'm very curious as to what we'll be seeing from this new technology from Roland in the future.
