What is the best wah pedal out there? Is a 60 dollar Dunlop cry baby or Morley all you need? Or is it the more expensive Gig-FX or Fulltone?

The basic Dunlop or the VOX Clyde McCoy. I don't think I've ever heard anything better. The Morley just sounds weird, but then, it makes me think of Steve Vai...

...and that's a good thing.

Yeah I have a Morley Pro Series 2 that is volume/wah/distortion in one. That was a mistake to buy. The distortion is a waste of a button and circuit and the volume only responds the last 20 percent of the range. I like the Clyde deluxe from Fulltone but I cant see spending that kind of money. I play for a country rock cover band, I just don't use it enough. I do however, want something beside that Morley. Its just another testimony of trying to put too many effects in one pedal.

Hahaha yeah. I think Steve is the only person I've ever heard of who actually makes use of their sound, and his signature wah (The Bad Horsie) is nothing like the other Morley pedals either. If you just want a classic wah, I'd urge you to try those two, and a used Dunlop will almost certainly still be in perfect working condition. They're one of the tougher brands in the business (which probably isn't news to you haha...I'm pretty sure I'm the biggest youngster here).

Yeah I played a Dunlop for a while. I really like how they feel, I wish they had just a touch more range in the wah. It seems you only get more of the high range of the wah with them. I know they have other Dunlop wahs that have a different ranges and sounds, but they aren't 60 bucks anymore. For as much as I use it I think I should quit my complaining and either bite the bullet and spend the money or deal with what a regular Cry Baby can give me... Which is really a good product over all.
