I am thinking of getting this to add to the pedal board. I have never used a compressor in my effects loop before. Do you think I ought to add this to the collection?

I've been using compressor on bass since last April and really like what it does for my sound. It evens things out and by doing so increases the apparent volume. I imagine it'll do the same for guitar, but the most apprent effect will likely be increased sustain. You'll have to experiment to avoid an overly squashed sound, though -- unless that'swhat you're looking for. IfI had to guess, I'd say that Steely Dan's guitar solos are heavily compressed.
