I have been using a homemade 2 dollar suitcase for a pedal board. It works but it just doesn't provide the protection I need. Our band may be doing a road tour soon instead of just playing Nashville. I need something to keep em safe.

Suggestions?

Boss makes a pedal board that includes power connections in a hard shell case that has a pretty low profile. RoadRunner makes a metal, suitcase-like case that one of my friends uses and likes. And there's a company called pedaltrain that makes a lightweight pedalboard that look pretty adaptable. SKB makes one that got good reviews on Musiciansfriend but costs $265. I found a basic pedalboard -- plywood covered with carpeting and power for about six boxes -- that came with Velcro to attache the pedals, plus a soft bag, for less than $100.

I think I am leaning towards the Pedal Pad AXS. It is an angled pedal board which helps to get to your second row effects without hitting your first row effects. It is covered in a velcro type material so you can put your pedals anywhere. It is a hard case which I am set on because our equipment sometimes isn't treated with the gentlest of hand. It also has a little bit of storage underneath for extra cables, batteries, lunch...

It is a little spendy for the big one at $199 which doesn't include a power supply but I don't really think I need one. I use two one-spots to power my pedals and that is working fine.

What do you think?

I checked the AXS online and it looks to be well made. Also gets good reviews on "other" review sites. Contsruction looks solid and setup looks easy.

Ok. It is between NYC Pedalboards, and the Pedal Pad AXS. The NYC threw a wrench in my plans. I was going to get the Pedal Pad until someone told me about the New York Cases. They are similarly priced. Which one??????

Don't know about their pedalboards, but I have an NYC case for my Roland bass pedals and it's well made.

Ok so there are NYC pedal boards, and then there are flight case from the New York Cases. I just ordered a flight case for my quad reverb amp. It was only $150 with ATA upgrade and 2" casters shipped to my door. I am a little weary but its actually one of the only ones I could find made for my amp. Is that who your case is through? I got it off eBay. They have little pedal cases for half as much as the NYC pedal boards, but they don't look as sturdy. What do you think Laklander?

Mine came from Ebay as well. I don't do any heavy duty traveling, but it looked well made. I had an Anvil case for my Taurus I pedals that looked virtually identical.
