I play a lot of acoustic shows and I am very stingy about sound. What do you all think about feedback busters? I know a good sound guy can EQ your guitar however you want. Will I lose sound with the buster? Is it worth it or should I just keep fighting feedback?

I agree that a good soundman is essential, especially if you're miking the guitar rather than having it go direct. I can understand why, in a high-volume situation, miking might not work, but I've heard some bad EQing on guitars taken direct that makes the strings sound like plastic,

I guess it really depends on how your acoustic is set up - pick up or internal mic? When running a bridge pick up I believe a feedback buster has little to no affect on tone and if it does - your sound guy will appreciate you using one so much he'll probably spend extra time making your guitar sound great!

As far as the internal mic set up, I'm not too sure. I feel like internal mics are a sound guys worst nightmare on a stage with more than just acoustic instruments. They seem to attract feedback in so many frequency ranges...by the time he is done notching out the feedback all you've got left is 80hz and below.

I'd love to hear from somebody with an internal mic set up who plays out with a full band. How does this work for you and what do you do to keep a great sound but prevent feedback?
