We have a lot of Bass players and Keyboard players in the forum. Just curious, who plays a little guitar as well? Most of my buddies who aren't guitar players know a little guitar which is great for jammin around the campfire. Who has a "camping" guitar and what is it?

Mine is an Ovation Celebrity with about eight cracks in the top due to the weather I have subjected it to.

My camping guitars are a Martin DXM and an Ovation Celebrity. I don't own any higher end acoustics. Yet! smile

I love the smell of lingering campfire smoke on an acoustic guitar.

I bought a Giannini for like 40 USD when I was in Rio De Janeiro a few years back for a backpack we trip we took near Sao Paulo. My first nylon and my first Brazilian.

Also my first ruined guitar because of condensation and dragging it across 40 miles of rain forest.

This is why we need to make haste and turn it into our tip bucket. We can rent a sawz-all from home depot. What are you doing this afternoon?

That is a brilliant idea, my friend! I am in the studio all day today...we will make that guitar magical this weekend.

I'll post a photo later for all of you non-Nashvillians!

Ah, camping guitars.
My one and only camping guitar is and always will by my Alvarez RD8.
Not only is it my camping guitar, it's currently my go-to studio guitar.
Cheap, great sounding instrument.

My poor ovation has weathered many harsh Colorado winters and has the scars to prove it. It has SEVEN top splits from quickly changing humidity and temp and still stays in tune and plays like a champ. What a guitar. It was my first so I will never get rid of it.

Goodness, don't get me wrong, I'm glad your guitar has lived so long - but - I can't stand ovations because you have to have a strap to play them or they slide of your lap! What good is that?!

Ha! only ovation virgins! You get used to it after a while. The medium depth ate harder.
