My lady has very weak finger strength and wants a guitar that she would be able to fret easily. Is there any that are easier to fret than others. Everything I've found has action that is too high and it's hard for her to fret those. Any suggestions?

I recall Ovation acoustic guitars to be easy to fret. They had low action (the strings were close to the fretboard) and were therefore easy on the fingertips.

Check one out and let me know...

That sounds like what we need! Thanks poptart. I'll let you know how it goes. I'll take her probably next weekend to the big city to see if we can find one for her to try out. Thanks again!

No problem! These are easy to find too, in addition to have less-expensive models available...

Music shops and want-ads should have many Ovations to choose from.

We may try these out too for my son. He wants to learn and I'm thinking strongly about taking guitar lessons with him. I play keyboard but I always wanted to try strings too. I found a fantastic teacher for him and I may just learn along with him.

Poptart is right. The less expensive models are called the Applause line. (HA! Get it?! Ovation? APPLAUSE?!?! HAHAHAAHAHA...yeah I'm not laughing either...) They're solid guitars, all of them. A buddy of mine plays a 15 year old Ovation with a top that's cracked in about 20 places hahaha. It's still a solid instrument.

Please note that this shouldn't represent all Ovations. He beat the tar out of that thing. It wasn't anything that wouldn't have happened to any other acoustic. They're awesome stuff, and you can find a solid 6-string Applause for around $200 or less used. Even some used Ovations go that low. Well worth the money, Eddie.

That's not a bad price for a guitar that may last him for a while. I don't think I'll complain if I find one in that price range that he will learn on AND keep for a few years.
