....the electric/acoustic hybrids? My sister's kid got one and it's pretty neat. He can do a lot of effects when it's on the amp, and it plays easy and sounds good when it's off. Has anyone else ever used one?

I think that guitar cost is high.
I would like to have that kind of electric hybrids before but, I don't have enough budget.

My cousin found one used for $250. That didn't include the amps though. It was pretty sweet. Had a great sound and it was very easy to cord. Her son was playing within 3 months (cording) but was picking up finger picking too. Little devil can play great now but he's 14 now and like every teen-wants to start a garage band! smile

If the budget is more than I am hoping then more than likely it will pass me over. Right now we are trying to cut back on hobbies and the such just until we can get threw this work bump we have going on.

250 is not too bad, but right now for me that is something I would have to save up on. If anyone has one that could chime in that would rock though.

She was lucky to catch this one in the shop. Some dude had brought it in to trade for something newer. It was the only one the store owner had and there were quite a few lookers in the shop. She tried it out and snapped it up then and there. She got really lucky.

I like the hybrids, as long as they do not feed back easily. My experience with anything near a hollow body is feed back once the gain is turned up a little.

The sweet tone of these guitars is great for both rhythm and lead. The wood using in the construction seems to matter even more with hybrids/ hollowbodies.

I would love to have a hybrid but, as Candit stated above, it's just not within my budget right now. My other half is laid off right now. He's due to go back next week. Hopefully there will be a little 'play' money once he goes back to work.

That's a shame Jillian. The economy is horrid but still you have to have a hobby to blow off steam. I play piano too so I use my music to calm down and forget my troubles for a while.
