Just received the ToneRite for guitar and have it attached to my Yamaha acoustic. I've been skeptical since I heard the pitch at NAMM this year, particularly the part about making my guitar sound so many years older because there's a block on the strings vibrating the guitar "simulating actual playing." It sounds somewhat sound, but whether or not it actually works is up to these tests. I've had it on for 48 hours now...72 hours is up tomorrow. I'm waiting to see what it plays like after 3 days of having it on (the minimum time they recommend). I recorded it just before it was put on the wall and the test started, with brand new strings...and tomorrow the test ends.
They say it will sound sweeter and louder. I'm prepared with an Oscilloscope and original recordings of that very guitar to test that.
Hopefully we can get Laklander to an extra test of his own to get a second opinion as well, since the idea of the guitar sounding "sweeter" can be so subjective. We'll see.
