Ok all you acoustic guitar nuts. If you haven't heard of Doyle Dykes, it is time you looked him up. They usually tape the master classes at NAMM. As soon as they post the class I will get a link up.

Oh Man... He was incredible. He is like Eric Johnson, Chet Atkins, and Leo Kotkee in one package.

There isn't any real flashy stuff up on the site but you can hear some of his pretty stuff.

I will surely figure out how to get something up.

Matt, you should interview him. Sort of a hybrid story a little about the musician and a little about his gear or his thoughts on equipment, rigs and miking for recording, playing live, etc.

I second that. I'd love to hear about Doyle. And Shack should do a Victor Wooten interview too now that he ice has been broken.

Doyle Dykes was incredible! His master class was my first run-in with him and I was floored. Apparently he only lives a few hours south of Nashville - Matt really should interview him!

And Dave, I just heard about James onstage encounter with Vic. That is hilarious and awesome! I was too busy upstairs listening to Johnathon Cane's (Journey) daughter play were her band of 15 year-olds!

I met Seymour Duncan on the floor, and if I'd have kept my eyes open more, I would've seen Elvis's guitarist -- James Burton. Seymour had a pic of us taken together. Still waiting for him to post it on his Facebook page.

That's right. Seymour Duncan. I missed him in all the hollabaloo.

I am working on trying to get an interview with Doyle. His website gives you the option of using post (like in the old days when they sent pigeons) to contact him. Here it goes.

Seymour's kinda easy to spot, but James i more low profile. He usually dresses all in black and wears some kind of cap with flames on it. Doyle, Seymour and James and probably a whole lot more great players were all in town for a benefit show on Saturday.

I actually tried to contact Victor for an interview, but he's really busy touring and recording right now, so he said he probably won't be able to do anything until later this year. He did, however, compliment me on the essay and thank me for sharing it.

Very nice, James! Some guy offered to take of a picture of me and Victor while I was talking with him and said he would email it to me but never did. Maybe I'll just photoshop myself into one!
