Check out my hands-on review of TC Electronic's Staccato '51 head & RS210 cabinet: http://www.musicgearreview.com/article-display/3428.html

This amp's a winner!

I'll bump this thread for the sheer fact that Laklander's review goes above and beyond the call of duty in terms of being in-depth. Way to make all the rest of us look like slackers, dude!

But seriously, check it out.

Thanks, Shack. I write these in-depth things with an eye toward what I would want to know if I were reading the review, which is why I try to be detailed and put things through a variety of playing situations. Looks like the maufacturers appreciate it , too.

Thanks for the great review Laklander. I wonder if you had a chance to try the RH450. How would you compare it with the Staccato. And if you did, which one would you pick for your gear?

I didn't try the RH450, but from what I understand, it has a more contemporary, hi-fi sound right out of the box. That's because Rocco "baked in" his personal preferences for a funky sound, including bumping up midrange punch and adding a bit of bottom to the EQ when set flat. If you look at the review, you'll see a box that compares the center frequencies of the EQ between the RH450 & Staccato when each is set flat. I think it'[s quite possible that the RH450 can be made to sound like the Staccato and vice-versa. If I were in a funk/soul band playing a Precision, I'd vote for the Staccato. But I wouldn't fret if I had to "settle" for the RH450.
