I love the tones I get and they range from a bit of crunch to extremely nasty distortion. The one I got is purple. The guy in the store said that Hendrix had a purple stack, but I think I've only seen one picture of a purple Marshall other than my small one.

The purple stack, to my recollection, never went on tour with him. He just used the old hand-wired Lead heads with the channels jumped and 1960 straight/slant cabs. There was very little variation in that. The store owner was right, though. Jim Marshall custom covered one in purple for him. _________________________ I love science, and it pains me to think that so many are terrified of the subject or feel that choosing it means you cannot also choose compassion, or the arts, or be awed by nature. Reporters generally get this stuff straight from the company, so it should be genuine anywhere. I can at least vouch for this website. Given a $500 list price, I'd try and hope for $350 or so. $400 at the VERY most. Who knows?
