Are they silver "tube" pickups? Danelectro always calls them "lipstick tube" pickups. They do have a Tele type sound, but a little thicker and less twangy. I prefer their sound to Teles most of the time, unless it's a country gig. I think they're great guitars, and a heck of a lot of fun to take to a gig.

I guess I should mention that they're also sturdy and such. Well built, and with good parts. I'd recommend them.

Right now I have a Schecter C-1 with Duncan pickups. The neck is super thin and fast, which is perfect for playing Megadeth, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Accept, Mercyful Fate, Savatage and similiar bands that work me into a heavy metal frenzy.

Here are the axes that make it into regular rotation in my live setup:
2001 Gibson Les Paul Classic
2000 Gibson Gothic Explorer
ESP/LTD K-500 w/spyder position markers mmmmmm...spyders
Franken Strat: Rail humbuckers, upgraded tuners, bridge and trem block.
'91 Fernandes LE-2 Best Strat I've ever played.
Early 90's Yamaha RGZ that I've put Mighty Mite Mother Buckers in.

Right now I'm playing in a classic rock band: Stones, Bon Jovi, Deep Purple, Styx. When I listen to music, which is all the damn time, it's more Police, NIN, TOOL, Tom Waits, Lou Reed type stuff.
Early 90's Yamaha Tele with humbuckers. You can go all Keith Richards on it, which is nice.
