I was just wondering what the word on the streets on the vintage modified series was.

I've played a few at Guitar Center and read a few reviews, but I wanted to get a community opinion if possible. Let me know what you think, specifically if you have owned or currently own one.

I haven't owned the VM, but I have played one and I think that, for the money, it's a very nice bass. In fact, I like all the Squier basses. The buzz over on Talkbass seems to be positive. Duncan designed pickups are a selling point, too. I think the extra money for the VM as opposed to something like a SX Jazz would be well spent. I owned a Squier fretless Jazz briefly and was very happy with the quality and sound. I also have a Squier Strat that is very well made and sounds great.
