I have been working on turntablism for a couple of years now, and I have liked the Denon line of products, especially the newer hard disc drive units- you can keep all of your music on the unit itself with only one drive to carry to a gig.

This new mixer looks cool- has anyone tried it? Its 'Utility Mode' looks very useful...

You know I've never understood turntablism.. is that really what it's called? What's it all about? Do you have like samples and song tracks and you just work them in with the table? Do you normally use two tables?

I'm with Chris on this one. I have NO idea how this works...

Actually, this sounds like it's worthy of a new topic to me...

This topic is totally new to me. And, I really found this interesting and informative. I am referring to turntablism. smile I am no good with a mixer. Right now, I am trying to learn a bit of guitar; however, all these things are great to know and I thank you guys for posting these threads.

I'm not a DJ, so I have never tried any Denon equipment, but I know they come highly recommended and that Denon has good rep. I wasn't able to scre up any web reviews of the DN X-1700, but Denon has just released the DN X-1600, which is supposed to be a more affordable unit based on the DN X-1700 that includes the ability to work with both sound and video. There will be a preview of it up in the MGR DJ equipment area soon.
