I think this would be fun for the adults that we have over from time to time and the kids. So I have a Philips TV (old school, 60" big screen), we have an Xbox and a PS2. I need some help here.....is it possible to do this with the gaming consoles? I have only seen these used (yes) in bars, so I am clueless here. frown

Xbox and PS2 both have software for karaoke. I have never tried it myself but you can find reviews @ http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/puzzle/karaokerevolutionshowparty/index.html.

I love karaoke. Unfortunately, no one who knows me will let me anywhere near a mike. I am a horrible singer. My mother always told me that I couldn't carry a tune in a bushel basket...lol.

That is the glory of karaoke. Anybody can sound good on a karaoke machine. The kids at school had a party today and had a karaoke station to go to. They had such a blast. Karaoke is here to stay.

I love karaoke! We have a set from when karaoke first became popular. All of the family get to take turns and we play American Idol! We have a blast and laugh so hard we can't sing.

I was over a friends last weekend and they had an online Karaoke site that had free songs. They just pluged the feed to the input on the TV and it sounded OK but you would have to have a good internet connection. I noticed that ATT has Karaoke on the Uverse channel for a monthly fee. You might want to check that out.

I also love to Karaoke. It is so much fun. We do it at our family reunions. Most of the time we don't know all the words because the machine we use only plays songs and doesn't show the words. It is quite comical when we sing some of the words and hum the rest..lol

I know you can use the Xbox as a Karaoke machine, just not 100% how to do this either.
Why not just buy a Karaoke machine. You can get one fairly cheap and on the internet. They come with microphones and most hook right up to the TV. I also like these because you can see the words on the TV (so you know what to sing).
I love Karaoke and we do it with each party we host. I'll look around online to see what I can find.

I am going to have to check out the karaoke on the Xbox, I didn't know they had that. I can just see my daughters and I playing around with it, they love to sing and dance, I love to sing just can't lol! Does the Xbox karaoke make you sound good too?

I don't know much about the Karaoke software in Xbox, but I do know that there are some very interesting Karaoke online communities. I am sure you can have some fun there. We did Karaoke at a party once, and I really had the time of my life.

Sing good? I think you only sound good when you really do sound good. I have not found a karaoke machine that makes you sound good when you are not that good.

I'm going to be picking up Sing It for the Wii next week.

And the guy who invents that is gonna make a ga-ba-gillion-million-billion dollars. Every bar. Every American Idol-like show. They'd all use it. Even American Idol already uses a harmonizer for its contestants called AutoTune so that they don't sound as off-key as they actually are.
