Any of you cats have any experience with a midi controller or how one of them works? I have an old Line 6 Mod Pro, and I would really like to have the patches be more accessible to me during live performances rather than turning around and turning knobs really quickly. If anyone has any information on the topic, I'd be really really grateful, because I'm a total newbie to it.

There are a lot of choices for midi controllers, but a good quality one is the Voodoo Labs (formerly Digital Music Corp) Ground Control. There is an old model (which I have a few of) and a newer Ground Control Pro with heavier-duty switches. They're very functional, control many devices at once (if you need) and have a good-size display for naming patches so you don't have to remember patch numbers. Their website is: http://www.voodoolab.com/ There are user manuals available on their site.

There are some other brands that you could search for info on, some more expensive, some less, but I have the most experience with the Ground Control products.
