I almost bought a Bugera high-gain head earlier this year but changed my mind because of the "newness" of the brand and wasn't sure of the reliability. I've read some real horror stories on the Internet about early models breaking down frequently. Does anybody have any experience with one (and I don't mean spending 10 minutes jamming on one at Guitar Center) that can give insight to Bugera's quality control?

Hey dude. I bought a Bugera 333 about 7 months ago and love it.
I own several boogies and was just walking through a samll local music store(i wont set foot in GC),and tried it out and was blown away.I always wanted something a little more portable than a half stack to take to bbqs and parties and thought this was my answer.BUT.....
This store wanted about 650 for it, which I thought was fair, but I was patient and found one on craigslist for 350 which i bought used and it went out on me in about 10 mins.It was in fact my fault,i was messing with an older rack and bad cables in its loop, and pop'ed it one too many times.Thankfully the guy was a tech, and fixed it in an hour.
As far as sound, it really is like a Boogie jr.
Not bone crushing dist. but very close, and nice thick tone.

Yeah, from what I've heard in demo videos the Bugeras have killer tone. Making a decision because of the amp's reliability was tough-one person will say they've had a Bugera for a year without any problems, and another person will say their Bugera broke down a day after they brought it home. I eventually decided to go another route and didn't buy a Bugera...I just couldn't take the chance of having it crap the bed on me during auditions or gigs. Of course, any amp can break down, but it just seems like the odds increase with the Bugera. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with one after a few years and they become more established in the amp world.
Do you use your 333 for gigs and band use or is it strictly used at home and you have another amp for the real world?
