I bought the guitar from a guitar shop that is now out of business. Price $550.

While I was searching for a Fender Strat, this Les Paul was found gleaming in a corner. After playing it for a while I had to have it. Good fretboard feel. Great classic sound that matches the more expensive Gibson models. Even with the classic pickups the distortion crunched with the best of them! Oh...and the finish....very nice.

The bridge sticks up high from the surface of the guitar making it difficult to play if you are not used to it. It's just as heavy as the Gibson Les Paul’s. I thought it was very well made. If you look very close at both Gibson and Epiphone guitars you will see that Gibson uses AAA top grade woods. Epiphone uses a lower grade but is still good quality. If you want a Strat there's nothing wrong with that but give the Epiphone Les Paul a try.

If you want a Gibson Les Paul, again give the Epiphone a try. In my opinion it plays just as well at the fraction of the price.  Submit Thursday September 07 2000 02:31:01 AM

I paid 300.00 (excellent!) at the Long Island Guitar Show to Music Services of Huntington NY. I was going to spend up to $1500 for a Gibson (midlife crisis?). Tried a million Pauls and only loved one gold one at $1200.00. They were very variable. I also tried a lot of Epi Pauls. Then I saw this one - beautiful and I just couldn't justify the $900 difference. Hard-shell case too!

It's a good one - they vary and this guitar has the tone feel playability and looks I love the pickups especially the bridge which I replaced with a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover (e-bay - 70 bucks). Neck isn't bad. The strap button came loose - I just replaced with Schaller locking. I'd give it an 8.8. I love this guitar. I do wonder whether I might someday spring for the Gibson but I don't think I could sell this one.
