Consider this a Stingray on steriods. It has serious growl that makes a normal Stingrays growl pale by comparison. The Stingray has always felt like a one trick pony type of bass to me, but hey, thats ok. That one trick is GRADE A. |

I like it. It doesn't pick up heavey breathing, even through the mouth. And it sounds pretty good. It's an excellent mic for a drummer or anyone who needs their space infront of them. The price is not too bad either. |

I don't feel one can get a better mic under $2000. Against some of the venerable Neumann's it holds up just fine. In fact until you really start to get up above the $4000 mark you really can't realize much better than this. |

Overall this is a great kit for not a lot of money. Going with the Catalina Birch kit allowed me to get a full set of soft cases, all Zildjian A Custom cymbals, Gibralter hardware, and a Tama Iron Cobra Jr. double pedal and still come in under $2200 |
