History:
Purchase: http://www.instrumentalley.com for $210 but came with 15 watt amp, gig bag, strap, tuner, and cord
What I Like About This Johnson JS-810/Del Mar Special Stratocaster Copy: The translucent red finish is beautiful and virtually flawless, the paint job on this guitar is worth the $210 alone. The tuners stay in tune even after heavy string bending and tremelo picking.
What I Do NOT Like About The Johnson JS-810/Del Mar Special Stratocaster Copy: The factory installed strings are not very good, so replace them. Also, you'll need to lower the action drastically to make this guitar playable but this isn't much of a big deal. The pickups are pretty good but the humbucker was dissapointing so you might want to replace that too.
Johnson JS-810/Del Mar Special Stratocaster Copy Quality Rating: • Solid Alder Body ( not really "solid" if you look closely, you can see the line where the wood was glued)
• One-Piece Maple Neck
• Rosewood Neck Stripe
Diecast Machine Heads
• Rosewood Fretboard
• Two Tone and One Volume Control
• 5-Position Pickup Selector
• Bridge position humbucker
• Tremelo "Whammy" bar
the features aren't too bad considering what you paid for.
Review Summary: In a nut shell, you get what you paid for, this is no Fender Strat but for the price, it's pretty damn close.
