Yamaha Review: EG-112

Yamaha Electric Guitars

History:

Purchase: I was playing my acoustic guitar and the more I play, the more I desired a electric since I cant play good punk or metally stuff on it. I got this guitar set from costco online in christmas for 189 USD, the shipping was fast, it was about three days. There are the red one and the black one. It is very well built, also amazing that it was made in china. This guitar is made of basswood, neck is maple and fingerboard is rosewood. It also has a standard tremolo bridge and one tone, volume and five-way pickup switch. Also comes with a 7Volt?? speaker and a bunch of other things including extra strings.

What I Like About This Yamaha EG-112: It is well built, very loud for a bedroom environment. The tremolo is very cool, the guitar has a humbucker pickup. It is great for metal or punk rock. It doesnt get out of tune that often, as I have seen in other reviews. I like the small frets, it is very easy to play, except for the friction on the fingerboard which is very hard to move around with. It can also receive pinch harmonics pretty good when it is turned to the loudest and the highest treble. I guess the features are more than enough for a beginner like me, in general, this is a very good guitar for its price.

What I Do NOT Like About The Yamaha EG-112: The strap is very dangerous, when you put on the strap, remember to hold the guitar tightly(in case it falls). It catches dust very fast(well, I leave it out on the stand most of the time)The amp also buzzes when turned on drive. That is basically all the bad things you would need to know.

Yamaha EG-112 Quality Rating: Again, it is well built especially for a made in china. (I expected indonesia, oh well) Made in China Body wood: basswood Fingerboard: rosewood neck: maple Chrome tuners One Volume+Tone button and 5-way pickup switch SSH pickup-combo Standard Tremolo(only goes one way instead of two) Includes whammy bar

Review Summary: It is an exceptional guitar for it's price, more than what i expected for 200 bucks. Fun to play with if you are dying for an electric guitar. If you get this guitar, I guarantee you will not regret spending the money.
