History: 20 year drummer and have played a variety of music with rock being my forte
Purchase: Bought this cymbal in an ebay bid or $45.
Pros: Obviuosly when looking at cymbals a low price is nice, but too often a low price does not equate to any real quality. Not so with this Saluda. While the SSX series is not the high end series, this is a remarkable cymbal or the price. Has a great sound and cuts through very nice. Not too washy, which is the bane o most cheap cymbals
Cons: The bell is too small. It is unctional, but i you are one to ride the bell, then you might ind it a little small
SSX 20" Rock Ride Quality: All Saluda's I understand are actually hand made. I think this is relected in the cymbal. It has great appearance and is really a beautiful cymbal. I have seen other reviews that discuss the logo being of a fairly cheap appearance... I agree somewhat. It is not real cheap, but could be better to help the sale of this cymbal. Saluda Summary: I really have fallen in love with these Saluda's (this is my 3rd purchase). They make a quality product and as a long time drummer I like to think I know what I am talking about and I do know what I like. This reminds me of the mid eighties when I bought a complete set of Meinls -who were not well known. I bought the mienls cheap they were incredible, especially recorded - the Saluda's are like that cheap BUT really worth every penny. Get them NOW as they price will go up due to great quality....I recommend these highly.
