History: I am first a drummer, than whatever else I need to be. I record at home, so I have to be the band. The drums are my strength, guitar is my second. Everything else is nice to do, but I have heard much better than I. I have been playing drums for 14 years and I still love it. I have been in a couple of bands, one where people were actually requesting us to play, but things are things, and then you still play. I am a well rounded music lover, all except for country. I love to play r&b as much as rock and jazz.
Purchase: I got it at a local music store. I was really torn between the Tama kit and a Pearl. I made the better choice. I am rough on things, and I play hard. This kit just does it. The initial heads suck, but that's why Evans is in business. I got the double bass pedal when I bought it because it just rocked. I payed about $900 with the pedal.
Pros: First I love the playability. You can't go wrong, and you can't hurt them. I really like the third tom being on the cymbal stand. Every other kit I have played walks on me, but this kit stays put. I played two different Pearl sets on stage that people kindly let me use before I had my Tama's. The first lost the high hat function after the second song, no biggie. But then the next song the bass pedal fell apart. It is interesting what you can do with a floor tom. The second turned sideways after the third song out of ten. It really went all the way sideways. The Tama is rock solid, in all aspects of the meaning.
Cons: I don't like that I had to buy them. It would be great if people just bought things for you. But hey, what are you going to do.
Rockstar Fusion Quality: The kit is strong. I love the star cast mounts, they really let the drums resonate. I love the sound and feel of them, you can adjust them however you want. There is no limitations to where you can place the drums, it just moves where you want it to. Tama Summary: Buy them if you get to. You will not be bummed at all. I even named my dog after these drums, get the point.
