History: Been playing keyboard for 25 years, and began playing bass in just the last 8 years. Play christian, smooth jazz, and R&B.
Purchase: Purchased from Brook Mays music, in the Spring of 03.
What I Like About This Peavey Cirrus (6 string bass): For a 6-string bass, it is light weight and the neck is not as wide as typical 2 strings. High-powered output, you barely have to turn the volume know for the bass to be loud.
What I Do NOT Like About The Peavey Cirrus (6 string bass): Not too many cons for this unit. I wouldnt have minded a few more choices in wood finishes, but other than that its almost perfect (for me at least :-)
One thing I would recommend would be a battery cover that does not require a screw driver. For any guitar player, its a hassle to do a quick battery switch if you have to first fumble to find your screwdriver.
Peavey Cirrus (6 string bass) Quality Rating: Very sturdy unit. This is my 4th bass, and by far my favorite. A lot of care was put into the design and contruction of the unit. The placement of the bridges, the weight distribution.
Review Summary: Very good, professional level bass. ALthough anyone at any level would be comfortable with it (from pro down to beginners), it is not at a beginners price. And of course most beginners don't begin with a 6-string. But I love it, and would recommend to all pros and pro-wannabes.
