Paiste 10" & 12" Signature Microhats Review

History: I've been playing in metal bands for 8 years now, I started off learning Metallica, Slayer, and Sepultura stuff. You know, speedy thrash stuff. As I started to excel, I figured my equipment should too. Went from a 6 piece Tama Rockstar to a 8 Piece Tama Starclassic Performer. I went from Percussion Plus cymbals to Paiste Rudes, 2002's, and Signatures. I play Power, Thrash, Death, Black, and Technical metal. I also play jazz/swing sort stuff, but only when I have the right kind of musicians present. I try to cover alot of ground with my work.

Purchase: I wanted a Xhat that could take the beating, and (being set loosely) sound good. I went to the Paiste website to listen to both, and I thought 'Hmm... I should make a choice between the two.' Well, it turned out, I felt selfish so I bought both! I have my 10" hats to my left on a cable hat, and my 12" hats to my right on an X hat holder. I got 'em both at www.drumsetc.com . The 10" was $302, and the 12" were $334. Not bad, considering I won't want any others.

Pros: EVERYTHING. Dear god people, these make great MAIN hats for christs sake! Beating them doing skank beats are JUST AS GOOD! I test them as main hats, too. These can truely take a beating. Quality and endurance... wow, what great cymbals!

Cons: Nothing. Not 1 thing. What cymbal company do you think I bought, Zildjian?

10" & 12" Signature Microhats Quality: Superb. The finish they have are nice and flashy, and I really get a kick out of how useful they are for any kind of music. Very high quality. Very very high quality.

Paiste Summary: If you are a hihat person (such as myself) you CAN'T make a better decision other then Paiste. The quality, the structre, the perfection... Oh god, just talking about them makes me want to go play them. Get these cymbals, and forget the companies whose names end with 'ian!'
