History: I've been playing for WELL over a decade (at time of this review). I play guitar, bass, mandolin, and banjo.
I've been in several bands and have done many a session. I play both onstage and in studio.
Purchase: I paid $50 direct from them.
Pros: It makes me appreciate their competition.
I also like how it reminds me of what it must be like to live in communist Korea.
Cons: It is a PHOTOCOPY of "tortoise shell" material on cheap plastic.
I'm not kidding - it's an actual $50 photocopy.
Red Brown Tortoise Shell Pickguard Quality: If it doesn't fade, even in the dark, I'd be surprised.
This is why America is getting a bad reputation... these guys are practically terrorists! Terrapin Guitars Summary: I emailed them after recieving my photocopy. They actually got mad at me!
$50 to throw around on something as trivial as a piece of plastic is not where most people are.
They took 3 weeks to get down to Kinkos and "make" my pickguard. Then they blamed their distributor, then me.
They acknowledged it was crap and agreed it was garbage, but then claimed I should have known better for not seeing it was a cheap photocopy in their weak JPG on their website.
This whole experience has been unreal... like some sort of comedy show. I really hope the guy bought his boyfriend something nice with my hard earned money.
