Boss GT-6 Review

History:

Purchase: Bought it in Romania for around 950 DM (Deutsche Mark) in November 2001.

Pros: 24 bit converters and digital out (coaxial), the amp modelling is impressive and so is the wah. You have all the classics and you can make your own on top of that. A generous display allows you to name your patches. There's a guitar synth that sounds quite like plugging your axe into that old Korg MS-20 (what a piece!), only this time it's digital, and you can choose the wave type, attack, decay, etc. And you don't need a GK2A divided pick-up.

Cons: I am not very happy with the manual but it is OK. Also an "undo" button in the near future?

GT-6 Quality: The moment you take it out of its box you know you can step on it. Very robust. It would be nice to be able to buy a gig bag or even a case from Roland made especially for the GT-6.

Boss Summary: My music is oriented towards jazz-house/ trip hop/ downtempo/ ambient and there is no effects processor that can give me more possibilities than the GT-6. I just love it. From classic sounds to "what-was-that?" type of thing, everything is inside. I am really surprised to get so much from it.
