History: I've played guitar for 10 years. I play keyboard, trombone, drums, bass, violin, ect. I play in a band named Sheldon Marsh centralized in Columbus, Ohio. I also perform solo around town as well. My tastes range from U.K. bands such as Radiohead to The Doves, to Icelandic bands such as Sigur Ros and Mum.
Purchase: I aquired this unit from a woman moving out of the country. She sold it to me for $70.00.
What I Like About This Yamaha G-55A: I love the tone of this guitar. It is warm and welcoming. The old Yamaha classical guitars have such a great sound. If you spent around the same amount of money on a different brand of classical guitar you would get a piece of crap guitar that is hardly playable and sounds like a toy.
What I Do NOT Like About The Yamaha G-55A: The action comes a little higher than I'd prefer, but that can be adjusted.
Yamaha G-55A Quality Rating: The construction is good and the quality is not amazing, but good enough for the price
Review Summary: I would say this guitar is definitely worth buying. You can find them everywhere on Ebay or Craigs List. They withstand a little rough housing and keep their tone through thick and thin. With a $40.00 professional set-up from your local guitar shop, this guitar will play like a dream.
