History: I've been playing guitar for over 30 years. My first guitar lesson was when I was 10 years old. I play guitar and mandolin. Currently i'm playing in a folk/bluegrass trio, and a four-piece rock band. My musical tastes range from rock, folk, blues, jazz.
Purchase: My partner in our band plays this guitar. He bought it new from Guitar center for $330.
What I Like About This Unit: This Ibanez ES335 copy is a sweet guitar! Semi-hollowbody, maple top and sides, mahogany neck, bound body and neck. I was really impressed with the finish on this guitar. Nice, translucent finish, no streaks or flaws, seemed very well-made. Sounds great too! He plays it through a small solid-state amp and it has nice tone. Was set-up pretty well right out of the box. Tuners seem decent, and bridge is good. Came with a nice hardshelled case. A great value!
What I Do NOT Like About The Ibanez Artcore AS73: For the price there really isn't too much to complain about. It may not have the tone of a Gibson, but you're also not shelling out big bucks!
Artcore AS73 Quality: This guitar seems well made, with good fit and finish. And it came with a really nice hardshell case.
Summary: For a nice sounding semi-hollow bodied electric guitar for under $500, you can't go wrong with this Ibanez!
