History: I've been playing guitar for over 30 years, took my first lesson at age 10. I play guitar and mandolin. Currently I play in a folk/bluegrass trio, and a four-piece rock band. I listen to all kinds of music.
Purchase: The rythm guitar player in our band uses this amp. He bought it new from Guitar center for $270.
What I Like About This Fender FM 65R Guitar Combo Amp: This is a great little amp! Great Fender sound, and this baby is loud! Has built-in spring reverb, and distortion. Easy to use, with all knobs on front of amp. Dual inputs, 12" Special Design Fender speaker, mid-contour switch to add crunch to the distortion channel. It should come with a channel switch, but if you want one you have to buy it separate. A really good value for the price. And did I mention it was loud?
What I Do NOT Like About The Fender FM 65R Guitar Combo Amp: The distortion channel on this amp isn't the greatest, but quite usable. It also doesn't come with a footswitch, which would be nice.
Fender FM 65R Guitar Combo Amp Quality Rating: Quality seems good, Like most Fenders. The cabinet is sturdy, with chrome steel corners for added protection.
Review Summary: If you're looking for a Fender quality, compact, loud, good sounding guitar amp for under $500, the FM 65R is the amp for you!
