History: I have been playing drums for about 5 years. I mostly play heavy metal, but I also play rock, techno, and afro-cuban music.
Purchase: I bought this unit from music123.com for $120. I bought it so I could practice at night when all my neighbors are asleep. I figured it would be a great way to boost my practice hours.
Pros: It really does go anywhere (you can easily fit the whole set in a duffel bag). It is very easy to set up and use.
Cons: This thing is really a piece of junk. I've had it for about six months, and about three of the pads have split in half already. The plastic they're made out of just isn't designed to take anything more than a tap. Also, the set has trouble accommodating a double pedal.
Go Anywhere Practice Kit Quality: The stand the set is based off of is sturdy and good quality. But the pads themselves need to be manufactured a lot better, they basically just come to pieces within a few months. Drum Workshop Summary: Don't buy it! The pads on this set are so bad that I can't believe DW is even selling them.
