Tosco Review: 20" Flat Ride

Tosco Drums Percussion

History: 25 years, various styles performed and recorded, professionally trained and educated musician.

Purchase: Given to me by friend, because rock muso were using it as a frisbee around the rehearsal rooms. They wanted to get rid of it and thought it was crap. Never used it! I think as Rock musicians they may have thought "hey look at this cheap cymbal- its so cheap they didn't even put a bell on it!" Thanks heaps for it though!

What I Like About This Tosco 20" Flat Ride: Really nice stick definition to wash ratio, sounds just like Art Taylors ride on Tranes 'Giant Steps'. I like just about everything about this cymbal, it crashes just right, it is versatile, you can play further up on it for cool latin beats and variation- its great! Also I like the way its so old- it looks really old and it comes out that way in thye sound but in a cool fresh way.

What I Do NOT Like About The Tosco 20" Flat Ride: Just about everything about this cymbal in my opinion is good.

Tosco 20" Flat Ride Quality Rating: Well it survived the rigors of mistreatment from my friends cousins, and it must be at least 30 years old, I'd like to know more about it. It was made in Italy, and its ink logo though small is still legible.

Review Summary: Great jazz cymbal, beautifully matured, I'm lucky to have it.
