Kramer Review: Ferrington

Kramer Acoustic Guitars

History: Playing Guitar for 23 Years and have been in two bands but currently not. I have a wide musical taste like Blues, Celtic, Doom, Rock.

Purchase: I acquired this guitar in 1997 at a pawn shop in my home town of Fort Worth Texas for about $125.00, what a steal.

What I Like About This Kramer Ferrington: I like everything about this guitar, it has been my main practice guitar since I bought it 10 years ago. It plays fast like an electric with great acoustic sound. It has a full rich tone for a thin body, much better than other thin body acoustics I have played. It is easy and fast to restring like a electric.

What I Do NOT Like About The Kramer Ferrington: The only problem I ever had was the bridge pickup had to be replaced. I replaced the cheap plastic nuts with bone nuts. A very minor cost for a major improvement.

Kramer Ferrington Quality Rating: It is very well made and has held up to being, dropped, knocked over and played extensively in the decade that I have owned it. The fit and finish is first rate. The frets and fret board have held up very well.

Review Summary: Overall this is an exceptional guitar. Time has only improved the sound quality especially with the replaced bone nuts. It is first rate, light weight, sounds great and will be your mate traveling state to state.

Kramer Focus VT 111S Deluxe - I have been playing guitar for about 20 years now and have owned and played mostly classical guitars. I also own a knock off Les Paul which I paid about $300 bucks, and can honestly say that this guitar (regardless of the price) stands up in quality...

Kramer Striker FR422S/D - Too sell such a great guitar at such a low price is a crime! I don't think you'll find another guitar in that price range that can match up to it. I've been playing for a year and I've put it through hell and it's still going strong!...

Kramer Duke Bass [headless aluminum neck] - It's a weird, unique, but simplistic and minimalist ax with a big heart and voice. The metal neck gives it decent sustain despite the short scale, but depending on your attack and position, you can still get that percussive "short scale sound"...

Kramer Pioneer - Best fender style bass on the planet. I shouldn't even post this, cause it'll just make it harder for me to buy another one as a back-up....

Kramer Baretta FR404-S/D - This thing is great and while not as awesome as the Kramers of yesteryear, it still remains an integral part of my rig. I can't wait for MusicYo to release the new Nightswan and Baretta reissues (80's reincarnate). This guitar kicks ass and is a gr...

Kramer Focus 420S Bass - I've had it for little time, but I liked it from the moment I pulled it out of the box. MusicYo was very good too. I got it in less than a week. Overall, I am very pleased, shipping was good about not hurting it, so everything went just fine. If you ...
