History: been a drummer for 4 1/2 years, taking lessons for a year, part time drum builder, have been through more cymbals than you have seen
Purchase: i got these two online at drumgearonline.com, i traded in a pair of zil. mastersounds for them(hihats were too bright, not subtle enough), they would be about 150 without trading in.
What I Like About This Saluda 16" Secret Series Crash 8" Ion Splash: first the looks. the crash has the two tone lines going around it in circles, like a boshphourus cymbal, both had this sorta satin like finish on them, giving them a traditional old turkish look to them. the splash wasnt too impressive at first, it doesnt have much sound output(being a 8") but when i recorded with it it was outstanding, bright, sharp, quick and musical all in one, with a sort of dry feel to it. i had emailed them saying i wanted a crash that was dry, explosive and had a quick decay. what they sent me was beyond what i expected, a perfect match for the sound i had in my head.
What I Do NOT Like About The Saluda 16" Secret Series Crash 8" Ion Splash: nothin' squat, nada.
Saluda 16" Secret Series Crash 8" Ion Splash Quality Rating: very good. they have a solid feel to them, i think they will last a long time, they already have for about 3 months
Review Summary: as much as i like them, you might not so i highly suggest you check them out as much as possible, talk to them, whatever you can. but the quality of the product? unparalleled.
Rating of this Saluda product: 5
