History: I've played in a band for a few years, just garage stuff, but nevertheless fun. We've gigged a few friends cookouts and stuff but mostly go acoustic when we do that. That's really why we were looking for some powered monitors, just more flexible and we didn't really need the performance of stand alone amps, etc.
Purchase: Got a pair of these for about a thousand bucks online.
What I Like About This Mackie SRM450 Powered Monitors: I like that it uses Mackie's Servo Feedback Controlled Woofer technology, which really pounds with minor wattage. I've heard a set of these before and was really impressed. They weren't cheap, but they're exactly what we needed.
What I Do NOT Like About The Mackie SRM450 Powered Monitors: They're a little on the heavy side, but what do you expect for something that has built in amps and pumps out this much volume?
Mackie SRM450 Powered Monitors Quality Rating: I've always thought Mackie's gear was well built. I think construction and quality are first rate.
Review Summary: Overall, they're not cheap, but they sound great and are a versatile pair of PA speakers for a variety of location. The built in amps make them easy to use and they are well matched and sound great. I love them!
