Hart Dynamics Review: Pro 6.4 Drum Kit

History: been playin for 15+ years. I play drums. Been in a few bands and currently in a blues/rock pub band. Into all styles of music except for house/his hop.

Purchase: purchased my pro 6.4 kit direct from hart dynamics and spoke to peter himself. Cant recall how much i paid but it was heavily discounted. Although became very expensive once delivered with taxes, stamp duty and roland module purchase.

What I Like About This Hart Dynamics Pro 6.4 Drum Kit: the visual appearance was very appealing and all the great reviews it has accrued. Also feels great to play for an e-kit. Sales and service team was great for a little while. I always give credit where credit is due.

What I Do NOT Like About The Hart Dynamics Pro 6.4 Drum Kit: an awful lot. Firstly is the build quality. It was of a cheap nasty chinese standard and also would belive it to have been made there but possibly assembled in the usa (false advertising). Second, the very cheap and nasty cymbals. They are just plastic practice cymbals with gold plating and a $3 dollar piezo tranducer with a bling covering. I chipped the gold plating to black very very easily (false advertising again, although i believe the wording has been changed after my complaint on their website toward their lifetime guarantee) but they could withstand good punishment in terms of braking. hat and ride should be taken off the market. They dent very easily, extreemly unreliable and rotten construction joined together with rivets and double sided tape. Third, the toms, snare and bass drum are very poor quality, unreliable, severe hot spot and very hard to tune with module even with the optimum settings supplied by hart . Construction is also just a heavy bling steel shell with a $3 piezo tranducer, flip flops material core with an easy wearing foam top between the head. Heads cant take much punishment and need replacing reguarly unless you are a jazz player. All booms, stand and pedals are of chinese beginner kit standard. The rack is good and does the job. Kit is also loud and annoying to everyone in yr house and not recommend for flats or units (standard out of the box without power)

Hart Dynamics Pro 6.4 Drum Kit Quality Rating: construction is of poor chinese import quality. I really dont believe they are manufactured in the usa but possibly assembled as i have mentioned above. The kit cant take much punishment without regular part replacing. I am not a heavy hitter so avoid this kit if you areĀ”

Review Summary: to call it a pro kit and really back that claim i find it to be an insult to the industry. Seriously do not purchase this kit unless you are a beginner with too much money, no brains, very low standards and believe in the rubbish reviews and marketing relating to this kit, or just want it to look cool in yr room and annoy yr neighbours with the sound of a live tennis match happening in there. This review is written by a real drummer with real views and standards. I have given this kit a very thorough examination and testing over a long period of time and not mind clouded by excitement and half hour testing going through all the different cart wheeling wiz bang sounds that the module, (not the kit) produces. It does not fulfill many (if any) of the positive claims it advertises toward it. I could bet that there are many many of these negative personal reviews that have not been published on any consumer testimonial link? And the funniest part is i am now selling my kit after i write this. I dont like my chances but i look at it every morning reminding myself how good and expensive that 'talk piece' of beautiful furniture sucked me in and not to let marketing or customer testimonials ever make an impact on my decisions again:-)
