Purchase: i got the rp 200 hundred for my birthday when i first started playing the guitar it was like a fucking dream. i had asked for a distortion pedal and dad said screw it ill get him the whole set i guess he paid around 140.
Pros: the rp 200 has so many different effects and its a very affordable price for a begginer. you can create your own particular sound something that says your name when people hear it you know your own unique sound or you can try to find the sounds of your favorite artists. it comes with a ryhtm button i guess you could call it and you can change the tempo of the beat which is fuckin awesome for improving your chops for you heavy metal fans im at 170 beats per minute now i know it isnt anything compared to slayers 210 but im workin on it.
Cons: it does have many features but, theres always a but, the distortion on it isnt as good where as if you bought a pedal specifically for distortion. same with whammy or wah sounds. and it takes a while to get used to switchin sounds the pedals are really close ill be really into a song and the lead will come up ill go to distortion and end up hittin both pedals at the same time and it goes to bypass so then i get pissed off cause i have to rewind when i was really in a flow.
Quality: ive had my unit for around i guess a year and a half now its pretty cool i use it all the time because it has the cool delays and swells and reverbs ive only had one problem with it and thats when the pedal always read that it was up so wahs were impossible but i sent it back and they fixed it and upgraded it all for a simple 10 dollar shpping and handling and a gruelling three week wait. but i really saw how much better distortion sounds coming straight from an amp which will be my next big investment marshalls baby fuck yeah.

Summary: for begginers this is very cool i use this so fucking much and now that im getting into the metal scene the beats have improved my chops immensly. this is a really cool gift. but for the more heavier shit like pantera, mettalica, slayer go buy a marshal amp thats your only hope bro. have fun with it if you choose to buy it its very affordable. make your own sounds dude thats what makes it fun be yourself come up with YOUR sound. stay cool and never stop playin.

Purchase: I brought this unit in desperate need of creating new songs and getting some more sounds out of my guitar i brought it from Guitar Village in the UK i spent 130 pounds for it.
Pros: I like the variety of effects you can use on there own and at the same time also the built in drum kit is amazing helps begginer guitarists (like me) to keep in time great design, good looking perfect.
Cons: Ermmm the knobs are to close to the small pedals and also signing each of the pedals is hard.
Quality: Simply Great

Summary: Buy one

Purchase: I bought the DIGITECHRP200 at e-bay brand new I bought it because I have heard so many good things about it. AND I ONLY PAID $108 that was a great deal.I think another reason of why I bought it is because of its very large amount of effects. You can never have to many effects like when you age playing a song you want to be able to have a lot of verity.
Pros: I like so many things about this peddle I don’t know were to start. Well I think one great thing about it is the wide verity of effects you can go from playing some hard rock from OZZY OZBORN to playing some acid rock like JIMI HENDRIX in a click of a peddle. One very good thing about it is that the are 30 different drum beats with 99 different speeds so like when you are making a new song or just jamming it’s a great thing to have.
Cons: I can’t really think of any thing wrong with it.
Quality: It’s built solid strong and durable if had it for a little wile know and its good as new. I love this peddle it’s the best one I have ever had.

Summary: I love this peddle it’s the best one I have ever had.

Purchase: I got this awesome effect box 2 years. Before that I had used a rp 100 and was amazed at the quality of the effects. I've been playing for 7 years and I didn't like digital effects because the ones I tried before this one were really bad, so I stuck to analog. After trying the rp 200 I was convinced it was the pedal for me.
Pros: I had tried the rp 100 but the only limitation was that it has no volume pedal, so wah/wah was out of the picture(I don't like auto wah). You can really recreate any sound on this box. From heavy distortion to jazz clean sounds, its all there
Cons: There's one effect that doesn't sound well on this and its when you want to mix a distortion with the wah. I've so many different combinations I don't a decent sounding distortion/wah.
Quality: Built to last. This thing very strong. I think its die-cast metal. It can take pounding after pounding. I play several times a week at my church it has never given me a problem.

Summary: I believe that this the best pedal for the money. It has amp simulation, mic simulations, pickup simulations, a variety of effects, reverb, delay the list goes on. i recommend this to nay guitarist out there looking for a good priced digital effects box with everything you need

Purchase: I bought the Digitech RP200 about 6 or 7 months ago at Sam Ash at New York. It was about $150. Before buying it, i read some reviews and asked other musicians for their opinion. It took me about 2 months to save up for it... but thats ok... it was all worth it. (I was 16 at the time hehehe 150 was hard to get, it still is!)
Pros: The effects are great. I've set up my own effects and altered some of the ones i didnt like too much. It gives my guitar a great sound and very diverse. I can begin playing with some hardcore metal distortion but then switch to some funky wah/ya and then get to a clean sound.
Cons: One thing i dislike about the Rp200 is that it takes a year and a day to get to a certain effect since you must cycle through each and every effect. You can preset, but its annoying.
Quality: The construction is good. Thick metal and not heavy at all. I have had it for a while and it has been through a lot of moving, kicking, stomping and all that and it still looks new and works like new.

Summary: The Digitech is a good deal if you are looking for a multi effects pedal. might be hard to use live but to record and just jam its a great pedal!

Purchase: I bought this unit from german internet music store. I paid 200 euros for it.
Pros: It has a nice collection of good-sounding effects like chorus, flanger and delay. The amp models are great too. Rhythm trainer and tuner are nice bonus. Good price. Great for beginners.
Cons: Some effects are not so good (especially wah). Distortion isn't bad but could be better.
Quality: It's made of aluminium and is durable.

Summary: This is a great pedal if you are a beginner due to it's low price. If you are more demanding about the sound quality you should use stomp boxes instead.

Purchase: i paid roughly $200 canadian for it at my local guitar store.
Pros: it has a lot of effects, very easy to edit new sounds and stuff. it sounds much better played through solid state amps, instead of tube amps. there's a lot of stuff for a good price.
Cons: because there is so many effects in one little box for a small price, none of the effects are very good. the distortion is not very good (although it sounds alright when played through a solid state amp), the wah pedal settings are simply HORRIBLE. but it has nice chorus, flanger, some ok reverb settings, and simple-but-still-pretty-good delay. and having to scroll through all of the effects can be a pain sometimes.
Quality: havn't had any problems yet, i've been playing with it for about a year.

Summary: overall it's a great pedal for the price, although all the effects aren't the best quality. this probably won't matter too much if you aren't picky about your sound. i recommend this pedal to beginner guitar players wanting to expand their guitar sound beyond a cheap distortion pedal like the boss metal zone :) (HORRIBLE PEDAL!)

Purchase: I paid $150 at Guitar Center as a Replacement of my dead RP6.
Pros: It has a bunch of simultaneous effects, and a decent amount if not all of the standard effects.
Cons: It's really noisey, and it doesnt have the best of noise gates. The Distortion has that really cheap electronic sound to it that plagues most small multi-effect processors. The 3 fixed band equalizer is too limiting.
Quality: It seemed really sturdy.

Summary: All the amp models, and effects in the world aren't going to fix the lousy basic sound, and you cant even help the mix out with the equalizer.

Purchase: I found it by researching pedals and got it at Guitar Center for $150, because I felt it was the best at the price.
Pros: It has a very solid aluminum construction, very easy editing, a expression pedal, jam-along and much more.
Cons: Its tuner sucks, and its paint comes off easily, not to mention the fact that it's navigation is terrible.
Quality: Very solid, however the paint tends to chip off. Otherwise, very high quality.

Summary: It's an excellent pedal at an excellent price. It gives good effects, although none are great, all are most certainly average or better and a good expression pedal.

Purchase: I bought this pedal for $134.99 at Guitar Center in Raleigh, NC. The people at Guitar Center are the best! I was getting REALLY tired of the sound coming out of my amp so I got the RP200.
Pros: I love the price. It costs just about the same as two single effect pedals, but has loads more. The effects are great, everything is editable, and the expression pedal adds loads of difference when assigned different parts. It also includes a VERY good tuner, which is the biggest bonus you could ask for. It has amp simulators, pickup simulators, miked cabinet simulators, noise gate, with multiple controls for each one. I really liked the fact that the Delay, Reverb and Compressor effects were separated from the others so you can add them together. The 40 factory presets range from Metalhead shred to pedal controlled Ya-Ya.The expression pedal can be assigned to any effect using a wide range of minimum and maximum parameters and makes for awesome sounding playtime. I'd like to say that I have had more fun playing guitar with this pedal then I've had in a loooong time. That alone is worth the 135 bucks.
Cons: My only complaint is the fact that you have to cycle through patches one at a time in numerical order. I'd like to jump around between them... But hey, compared to the good stuff, it's not a problem.
Quality: Pretty durable... It's DigiTech, so you know you're not buying a piece of crap. The effects are of very high quality, if it sounds bad, you screwed up.

Summary: Great effects without the impact on your wallet. This is just a great pedal for musicians on a budget, or with limited space.

Purchase: I bought this at Firehouse Music in Grandville MI for $149.99.
Pros: This It has a wide range of effects, and it the way they are lined up for programming is very similar to a row of stomp boxes, where you can control what you want and set up patches ahead of time before you play so there's no fumbling around on stage during the sets. You can set up to 40 sounds, consisting of all sorts of types of effects. Setting them up is very easy on this unit. You can even personally name each one, up to 6 characters. There is a headphone jack in the back for a hi-fi stereo personal practice session. I also like how it comes with an AC adapter. Zoom pedals, the adapters are sold separately for $20.00 which give this yet another upper hand over the Zoom products. I have only had this for a couple of days at the point of this reveiw, and have spent several hours beginning to set up my own preferred effects. This unit has an excellent phaser effect that to me sounds just like MXR Phase 90 which in my opinion is the best real phaser effect out there. There are also some nice chorus and flange effects, some decent clean guitar and acoustic effects which I like. I can also play right into my computer from this box, love that. The sweep of the pedal is also better than the Zoom pedals.
Cons: I am not completely happy with the sounds of the distortion effects. They're okay, but when I tweak them I can't seem to get the exact clean clear sound which is one of the types I want to be able to play. For the most part, there is a very high frequency fuzz that comes out over it that I can't seen to cut down without taking out a major portion of the treble tone quality of the effect. It can be fuzzy and I'm not immediately able to get exactly the distortion quality that I'm after. However, I don't play with a lot of heavy distortion anyway so for me it's not that big a deal. But thats really the only thing i'm not completely happy about it. I can work with it though and maybe I need to spend more time with it yet to figure out how to get it just right.
Quality: Solid, rugged. I like how it's in a metal casing.

Summary: For the money, you can't go wrong. I have used Zoom 504, 505, 606, and 3030 pedals, and this Digitech is way better than any of the zooms in effects, its dependability, and its versitility. I'm glad I got it. I am on a very tight budget and I am not in a band, I only play with freinds in bands occasionally, so for me this is the perfect solution. To me, this box is like having a row of stomp boxes that I can control in one unit. I like it.

Purchase: Being a beginner I was getting bored with my old guitar and wanted to liven it up and have some fun.So I checked out the Zoom GFX707 and the Digitech RP-200.The RP-200 has great super effects and its built to take more punishment than the Zoom.So for me the RP200 is the way to go.

Purchase: I got this at my local guitar store, paid about $200 for it.
Pros: what i like? oh my, so many things. There are SO many different things you can do with this. From heavy metal to rock n' roll to country, you can get almost any sound you want out of this. Its got many many features, and is very simple to use and program. It comes with 40 factory presets and 40 you can program yourself, which is more than enough.
Cons: The fact that you have to scroll though all the settings to get to the one you want can be a pain in the ass sometimes. After a while the pedal starts to squeak. I think maybe they should have added a few more synth effects, but thats just because i have weird tastes.
Quality: Very good quality. most of it is metal, whilst the rest is plastic. I've had it for 6-8 months and the only problems have had with the quality is that the pedal is starting to squeak.

Summary: its a great pedal, i love it so much that im going to sell it and get an rp300, which is the better version of it.

Purchase: Picked the RP200 up at Guitar Center in Austin. $149.
Pros: Great package with all the right stuff for anyone who doesn't want fx or stomp boxes all over.
Cons:
Quality: Tough as any fx box I've seen. This looks and feels like it will last my lifetime.

Summary: Great price, great fx, gets you up and going in nothing flat

Purchase: I BOUGHT THE UNIT IN A LOCAL MUSIC SHOP. MCPEARSON ROCKY MOUNT, NC. I OWNED DIGITECH EQUIPMENT BEFOR AND WAS ALWAYS SATISFIED. I HAVE SEEN REVIEWS IN A COUPLE OF MAGAZINES AND HAD TO TRY IT OUT.I LIKRD IT AND BOUGHT IT. 169.95 + TAX
Pros: FIRST OF ALL, THERE IS ALOT MORE TO THE UNIT THEN YOU WOULD FIRST THINK. BUT BEST OF ALL, IT IS A VERY EASY PROCESS TO SET A VARIETY OF SOUNDS RANGING FROM VERY CLEAN TO BIZARR. THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODIES TASTE IN THIS MACHINE AND AT A HIGH QUALITY AT THAT. THE NOISE GATE ALONE IS FANTASTIC; CUTTING OUT ALMOST ALL THE UNWANTED SIDE NOISE THAT YOU HAVE BEEN ACCUSTOMED TO WITH OTHER EFFECTS. THE EXPRESSION PEDAL IS VERY RESPONSIVE. VERY RARELY WILL Y0U FIND A PRODUCT OF THIS QUALITY, VERSATILITY AND EFFECTINESS FOR THIS LOW PRICE.
Cons: IT,S STILL RUNNING ON A POWER SUPPLY RATHER THEN A DIRECT PLUG TO AN OUTLET. NO POWER ON AND OFF.
Quality: THIS UNIT IS VERY RUGGED AND CAN TAKE ALOT OF ABUSE. EVERYTHING IS MADE OUT OF EXCELLENT AND TOUGH MATERIAL. THIS ONE WILL SURELY LAST YOU.

Summary: NO DOUBT, THIS IS EVERYTHING AND MORE THAN I EXPECTED FROM A DIGITECH PRODUCT. FROM THE MOMENT I STARTED HER UP UNTIL NOW (5 WEEKS) I,M ABSOLUTELY SATISFIED.

Purchase: I submitted a review previously and wanted to clarify a few things.
Pros: read my other review.
Cons: Now that I've spent some months with the RP200 I can say that 95% of what I said earlier still holds... but I want to tell the 5% that keeps nagging me. The unit IS noisy. It has a gate on it...but so many times I wanted to leave that off so that the notes would sustain in a normal fashion (and not just die out really quick). Well, when I do that the noise is quite a bit high. If you arent fussy, It wont make you nuts...but I am very picky..and to me, its a drawback. In addition, even with a gate ON it does output a constant small amount of hiss. If you don't believe me... do a bypass of the unit, and you will see its there at all times. Which, even though its very small..is a drag. Truthfully, you would never probably notice it...but I care about these things. And last, the unit is a tad cold sounding. I never noticed this until months after using it, I decided to use an older Boss GT-5 and compare tracks. They both can do a very usable Marshall. In fact, the RP200 sounds more accuratte...but due to the coldness..it didnt mix as well. It kinda stood out more than I wanted. So I am back to using the Boss more than I was.....strange...everybody is loving all the modeling stuff out there and It seems I am going the other way. What can I say..Ive owned ALOT of gear..and I now just use my ears. Email me if you have any questions at rafm1@swbell.net
Quality: I had 2, the first one had a bad switch. Strait Music in Austin (see Dustin, he is great!!) did the right thing and got me a fresh one in the box that has worked perfectly.

Summary: read my first review then this one,,,thats all I have to say after using the unit extensively. Overall, still a great pedal...recomended especially to guy who need one thing and have to make due with it. I do wish the design could guarantee that the foot pedals would never fail..but maybe my first one was a fluke. I dont think its as road-worthy as any MXR box..but they never could do what this unit does. -GtrGeorge

Purchase: I bought this for $150 at Strait Music in Austin, texas. I bought it to help me stay current with my guitar tones. I record mainly, and my old processors sounded a bit dated. I'm 39 and I want to be able to cover LimpBizkit, etc if I need to. Verdict: Really good.
Pros: It does a very usable job on a number of fronts. No one of the effects or "models" is incredible..but everything is usable, thats for certain. The modeling of the Marshall sound is excellent and I have already recorded with it. Its hard to tell you don't own a Marshall with this thing! I have owned a few Marshalls, I know. As far as effects go: Again everything is usable. The chorus is fine, crisp and not muddy. There is even a Detune feature which is realling good for sounding like an overdub, or for just subtle chorus-like sounds. The delays are limited, but the folks at Digitech gave you the sounds you are most likely to need. You can get good long delays, and they sound EXACTLY like your dry signal.
Cons: ...and about those delays: The bad news is the volume of your repeats is preset. Luckily Digitech gave your about 4 presets to select from. So Preset #1 is a low volume repeat of what you played, preset#2 is medium volume, preset #3 is still louder. Not Bad, but for very finicky people like me, I wish I could tweak it a little more. Luckily, the guys at Digitech know what works and what doesnt. The presets sound fine (Lucky for Us). Gripe #2: You can't have all the Fx at all the same time. Yeah, Yeah I know Im fussy..but hey I can dream, right? As with most Fx gear you have some corners cut. You cannot have chorus and flange at the same time for example. One again, DigiTech did the wise thing and what you get is probably the smartest set of choices. Believe me on this, I have hooked up 3 chorus units in a row..it isnt nescesarily better!
Quality: Overall very good construction, as others have noted. Great light weight aluminum frame..but cheap feeling plastic pads you step on. For all I know the plastic is indestructible (like what phones are made of)..it just SEEMS weak.

Summary: THE Best made, smallest, cheapest, least noisy and best sounding multiFx out there. I wasnt a fan of Digitech until I bought this. Their early stuff really didn't do it for me. But I would easily recomend this to anyone who needs something to carry around just in case you need some of these colors. -GtrGeorge Especially recomended to guys who can't hear it first..like outside the US..or living in remote places. Cause in all honesty Ive tried so many different fuzz boxes, delays etc..and this unit really offers the best sounds at the least price and smallest size. I would DEFINETLY carry this if I was touring the Phillipines, or the like.
